What can a SMSF invest in?

The trustees are required to formulate an investment strategy to invest in one or more of the following allowable asset classes:

• Cash and Term Deposits
• Fixed Income Products
• Australian and International shares
• Managed Funds
• Residential and Non-Residential property
• Other Investments such as commodities and currencies

Note – ATO recommends trustees maintain a diversified investment portfolio within the SMSF.
